Total Solar Eclipse 2024 - New composite
Two years after the 2024 total solar eclipse, I can finally publish this composite image of 96 separate exposures of varying lengths captured during the 2.5 minutes of totality. All of the pre-existing image processing tools I found were lacking when it comes to properly processing total solar eclipse images in the way that Miloslav Druckmüller and Hana Druckmüllerová propose, so I spent a long time developing my own suite of tools.
You can find more details about the image processing workflow in this blog post. The tools I made are also freely available for anyone to use, and to develop further.
The image was taken with a Canon EOS R6, a Canon 2x extender, and an EF 300/4L lens.
